I'd say bass since there are lots of ways to hook into them, fight well, and can be found practically anywhere. I like panfishing too since it makes an otherwise unproductive day a pleasant one. I've been trying to get into salmon fishing but it's sound too much of a chore with most days being skunk days and everyone acting like idiots over a few stupid fish. I'm also going to start lurking creek trout with my UL set up, I know a few great spots.

I started fishing at the age of eleven.
Most of my days were on lakes going after gamefish.
I always really wanted to start catching steelhead, but there was no one to teach me the basics! The internet is not comparable to getting some real help on the water. It just helps so much more seeing it yourself then coming prepared next time.

A lot of my time was at erindale with little success. I caught a few from piers with jointed rapalas, but it was inconsistent. I would always drag my dad to rivers on weekends so I can fish, but I would leave disappointed.

This year was a big change. I started learning from experienced guys older than me. I got to see what works most of the time and what doesn`t. Slowly but surely my hookups increased to the point that i`m landing fish.

The spots I would fish were always away from other people, but sometimes someone who knows what they`re doing comes along.

Last time I got tired of being alone and decided to go into the crowds and was able to confidently bust a few in the spots I was failing at before. I felt like a real pro hooking salmon in the mouth while others were snagging them.

I think I`ve spent around 70 hours at the credit in the past 4 weeks hiking every bit of water looking for fish. It payed off.

Not everyone has a lot of time to fish so it is helpful to give people a place to start IMO. I would never want anyone to spend as much time on the water as I have just to have finally hook a few fish.

Soooo....I`m not going to leave :)

I chose trout because they are much easier on the eyes than chinooks. :)

I voted bass here because that was the main game fish whenever I head out. But after trying out salmon and hooking on a few pike, it's a tossup. I'd love to try walleye, muskie, and other big fish. Just love the physical aspect that fishing provides when you hook on a fish.

Depends on the place... I love fishing Salmon in a boat on the deeper water in Detour Michigan early July or Walleye fishing on Lac Des Milles Lac near Thunder Bay or Steelhead on the Nipigon River (which are bloody insane) or Brook trout out of beaver damn ponds all around the Soo or Bass fishing on the Grand River near Waterloo. All are my favourite... I feel extremely lucky to have grown up with the chance to learn about all those places.

...a new favorite is Perch fishing in Lake Erie or pike fishing... both are pretty fun but perch are so much tastier

Should add... i find it deeply ironic that the word dam is filtered, or maybe i keep spelling it in an 'n' ---hrm, test post!

there is other you know
other what kinda fish is that????
the previous two years there have been lots of postings about bowfin....so that is why i was surprised they did not appear on the list
they are the best fighting fish in ontario pound for pound...so i guess i should be glad that i am the only one who considers the bowfin my favourite species to fish for....i have them all to myself...

this is a bowfin...not just an "other" fish
