If you look at google maps. there is a pond right in the center of keele-king st. - dufferin - davis dr. and there is access from dufferin or keele. If you check a little closer there seems to be parking lot and a few docks. Any info on this? I pass by this area when I go to alliston sometimes but didn't know about this until now.

There's your answer bud :)

Looks like it was a 'Water Ski Club' by a company called "SummerSKI" - their lease ran out on the lake... so, who knows what it is right now.
MAY be open to fishing - since nobody owns it? I dunno....

hmmm... interesting spot you've found. as A2F said, since the lease expired, who knows what's going on there now. it sounds like the ski club was asked to leave at the end of the lease and so there must be some plan in place for this lake. perhaps the owner of the land surrounding it has sold to developers to build a few big houses on?

wouldn't be surprised if there's a locked gate at the entrance now.

stopped by yesterday on way back from cottage. at the keele entrance there are two signs. old beat up one says "the ranch wake park". new sign says "spray lake watersports and activity centre".

there were about 10 cars there but i only counted about 6 people partaking in water skiing/boating/spotting. and i saw 3 people on the far side of the lake fishing from shore. could have been a couple more people fishing.

there is a sign that says fishing is $10 a day per person. however, not from boat. all from shore and on the north side of the lake, not the south side where water skiing is going on. one of the guys running the place said all kinds of fish in there and of good size. he said people are here every day fishing.

i personally would have paid 20 bucks for me and my gf to fish in my inflatable to have a go in this place but not 10 bucks a pop to fish from shore. however, since there were a few people fishing it could be worth it. who knows. it could be productive from shore.

mind you, looking across the lake it looked like a lot of the north shore was lined with pencil reeds or something like that. so the access points were limited i think.

i noticed now on the google maps that there are smaller ponds off the drive path, but have no idea about that. the guy didn't mention anything about them.

Awesome report. I would pay 10$ too rather than pay your keep which I think is unreasonable.
