whats the percentage of tagged perch caught during the derby?

Never fished the Orillia derby so I can't compare the events. As far as tagging fish, they are tagged just prior to the event, so chances of catching one are good. Although not sure what the perch population is. It's probably very high and small number of tags compared to population means a very small percentage. I have seen tagged fish caught in the past. It's worth $15 to spend a day fishing and have the chance of winning some great prizes. Launch and parking was free for entrants when I went. It is a great event.

it's clearly been said that they're both worth going to, so if you can manage both than you've got twice the opportunities to catch something!

i have to agree with garfield... its not chrome but double headers of 14inch perch is still a hell of a good time.

Agree! had it several times the other day and it was quite fun. Light tackle makes it alot more entertaining

I have a spot where get the biggest perch ever. I've caught them at 16" an more then one pound..... no BS ing.
Planning to make a trip soon with a bud an show him the area.....
