2009 has been a pretty great year for me in terms of time on the water. Largely due to the fact that I was finally able to get off shore and fish various areas I wasn't able to get to years before.
Spring pike opener success
Crappie fishing is a passion of mine and is the species responsible for getting me hooked on fishing when I was a young lad. Managed my personal best this year with a chunky 14 incher. Lots of fish in the 12-13 inch range though. Great season I must say.
My first muskie
Walleyes were EVERYWHERE this year. Definitely saw an increase in population. Mostly on the small side, but this only means that there will be more bigger fish in the years to come
Topwater walleyes...rarely experienced. What a rush! Very aggressive hits right at the surface.
Big bass of the year -- guess is around 5, but not close to the pig I got last year around the 6 mark. Topwater bassing is the best way to spend summer evenings
Only salmon for me of the year...scrappy male. With my new float setup on standby, I am ready to add steelhead to the list.
My girlfriend (chibi on this forum) didn't get out much this year, but still managed some nice fish.
