Hi All,
So I have been reading through the forums and see people talking about different spots to fish and I know you are not supposed to name spots and such but being a noob to all this I have no idea what people are talking about when they say things like the east trib or west trib and such. I was wondering if someone could clarify for me what that means.

Thanks :)

tributary "triB' are the rivers that (in this case) flow into lake Ontario--east trib for me is anything east of 404 highway and some the 400 hwy west trib is anything west of these---

Pretty much if its a trib east of Toronto, its considered an east trib, if its a trib west of Toronto its a west trib. That pretty much sums it up :D

Ok I think I am getting it, so Port Hope Cobourg and such would be East Tribs and Oakville and Burlington would be West Tribs?

north trib would be --anything north of lake O and south trib would be followed by... USA?

Hey MJS - welcome to the forums :) If you have any specific questions PM me about the tribs.

To me a trib flows into Lake Nipigon only city slickers fish Lake Superior Tribs but then a fishing guide that I know fishes only the Barren Lands in the Canadian Arctic for specks/char/etc...
So it depends Ontario is a very large Province and Canada is an even larger country so it all depends on your measuring stick?
