I was wondering what everybody prefers. Would you rather go down to one of the really popular spots(we all know which ones) and catch a bunch but are shoulder to shoulder or go to a spot where you will probably catch less but have the creek to yourself. The spots I go to I rarely see anybody else but never have a day in the double digits. I guess it's just not always about the fish

in my opinion ... its all how Hurting you are for a fish ... this Quote really sum it up in my opinion .....

The Grass is Always Greener on the other side ........ BUT its also Greener where you water it ;)

I've had some very fun days shoulder to shoulder. Only at spots that I am familiar with. Shoulder to shoulder at a new trout/salmon spot would be kind of boring, because of the nature of that type of fishing.

You do realize, often the most stacked spots are vacant!

Solitude to replenish my zen. I can careless about the number of fish caught, to me its just about being out there and relaxing. Often times I find myself not even fishing, just sitting down, taking it all in, reflecting, chatting up my fishing associates, etc.

I have more fun catching a couple fish and having the river to myself compared to catching 30 fish and fishing with 30 bozos around me.

The way I see it, if you go out fishing and only catch 1 or two fish, or get skunked and say you had a crappy day... you are missing the real point of it all, but thats just me.

Well said Dozer, I think many of us go fishing because on the right outings, we're enjoying ourselves more than a kid on a Christmas. Just don't tell the golfers..

Kudos to that post, that IS WHAT it is all about!!!!!

Catching fish is great and fun, but just get out there and enjoy. Do something positive.

NOTHING IS BETTER FOR THE SOUL, then enjoying natures beauty. And the many minor and major details it presents to us

Solitude for the soul.

Those are nice pics. As far as I remember, I've always preferred solitude over productivity. Arriving at a trib to see every pool in the open section is taken really backs it up as my preference.

In fishing, above all, I am after the peacefulness, so I'd a 100% rather fish alone in a river that has one fish and I work for it, than fishing a hole that has 100 fish, with 10 other guys. I really enjoy a good company, but not a crowd, particularly when they do not know the river etiquette

Lately I've been staring my day at the money hole... Shooting the breeze with my shoulder neighbors, while bagging a few fish, and learning a few things from the guys around me.

Then if I've caught a few and get sick of waiting for the guy 3 doors down to reel his 15g thill out of my real estate, I head for the hills, poke around and discover.

solitude is number 1 for sure. although there is the odd time when you jump in line in a busy pool where no one is getting hits, smash 3 or four out from that hole and then move one. thats fun too, especially when everyone is ripping through all there tackle as your walkin away

If you're in the GTA, it's difficult to find solitude but you can get lucky once in a while. I usually go bring my camera (not just for the fish). but you can catch the beauty of GTA at the right time and weather. So when i'm getting heavily skunk, i pack my fishing gear and just click away at whatever i can catch of GTA.It doesn't matter to me if I catch a fish or not or it's shoulder to shoulder as long as it's fun if the atmosphere is friendly. Rather than sharing water with one rude person...happened to me once. But yeah, nothing beats being alone in the water any time, day or weather.
