Professor's Lake Brampton

Has anyone fished this lake in Brampton. I went to the beach with my kids and the water looks pretty clear I know there should be almost all fish in this lake but was wondering if anyone has tried it yet?

I remember when they built this lake, a friend of mine lived in the houses around it when they were first built. But i have no idea whats in there if anything. They may have stocked it at one time. But it`s really just a minning pit.

My brother caught a tiny LM bass there last year on the smaller jitter bug. so there is at least small bass...could be other stuff in there too.

Have you even been to Professor's lake? I think you are mistaking it with Lake Ontario near Pickering nuclear power plant

The last time I went to professors lake, I was amazed at the clarity of the water (very good) for such a small lake.

Dude, no offense all I am saying is that there are so many better places to fish!!

no offense taken we just look for places to fish in the GTA near by if I want to go fishing for real I will go to at least Barrie or Kawartha Lakes. Also if I do go to Professor's lake it would be strictly sports fishing i would not keep anything from there. I don't know whether you have been to this little lake before but the water is pretty clear.

if you dont mind traveling alittle more, Rice Lake! just about 20-30 mins from pickering/ajax.

I went to Professor's Lake this morning, was surprised at the clarity of the water, it was clear.
I was shocked to see so many fish too.
My family caught mostly rock bass,they were hiding in the rocks near the shore in less than 2 feet of water. I also caught a Pumpkinseed and I believe I caught a bass but not really sure what it was.
I saw Crappie in the water but they weren't biting ,I also saw a large fish ,I don't know what it was ,it was shaped like a pike so I suspect it was that.
I was using worms ,they seemed to work well for the panfish.

The shoreline to the left of the rec center is a popular spot. I see lots of people fish there, and have even taken a few kids to catch small panfish. A few years ago they stocked rainbows in it, and I've seen some nice 13"-14" come out occasionally. It's a favorite bike path for my wife and I, but we haven't been there yet this year. Yesterday, I took a couple of kids up to Heart Lake and we caught some small panfish, but I did see a few nice rainbows come out, again about 14". Another small pond fun for kids in the city of Brampton is Loafer's Lake.

Yes I was fishing left of the rec centre.
