So I decided to take the plunge, after seeing all the pics and reading all the post on fly fishing I got to do it! So recommend me a outfit .... want to spend $400-$450.00.

Also want something that I will not grow out of to quick. Looking for 6 weight 9 foot.

TFO or ECHO rods about 140, a nice reel for 130-140, leaves some room for line and some flies, or are you looking to spend 400-450 of just rod and reel?

Wind Warrior
same blank as Hardy
Not too fast so your technique will be forgiven
(I'm having a few sent my way)
The Trend reel is about $200

Thanks, and nice to see they are Canadian. Also available locally.

$400.00-$450.00 on rod reel and hopefully line.

depending on quality of line..$40-100
I would spend all on rod and reel and buy line separately, would be willing to go around 75.00 for the line itself. So at 400.00-450.00 what outfits would be a good choice and again don't want anything that I will out grow to fast.

Would like to see a few options so when I go shopping I can compare the outfits and find what feels and fits my needs the best.

when you get to getting your line go rio or airflo stay away from sa thats my opinion but for rods echo or amundson are both great choices as for reels go hardy sick reels

yea i know orvis bought SA...they also bought Ross....but i've heard all 3 companies are going to run as normal

I don't the difference in line feel just yet.. all I know is the new 8wt vanguard from bass pro casts so much smoother then the SA I have on my starter outfit.

both my rods are setup with SA line, one is the professional series, i don't really like it, the other is the textured mastery series, its really nice

some other rods to look at Bow,are the Ross rods,i have a Ross RX, and i love it, but its a 300+ rod, check out ross essence FC rods, very nice as well, won't break the bank, and will last you a while, plus leaves a lot of room in your budget for a reel, line and some flies

What about the Sage Approach. Comes with Rio Gold line and is supposed to be a good rod to start out on.

That being said what about visiting Rob in Fergus and trying a couple test casts
