Reporter of the month for March 2008

The "Reporter of the Month" will be determined as follows:

• Each fishing report submitted by a member will be rated for quality. A score will be assigned to each report that reflects the quality of the report. The highest possible score for a report is 10 points and the lowest is 1 point.

• At the end of the month, the "points" for all of each member's reports will be added together for a final point total for the month for each member.

• The member with the most points for the month will be declared the "Reporter of the Month".

For example:

Member "A" submits 4 reports for the month that scored 8, 6, 7 and 5 points. Member A's point total for the month will be 26. (8+6+7+5)

Member "B" submits 3 reports for the month that scored 9, 10 and 8 points. Member B's point total for the month will be 27. (9+10+

If these two members were the only two members who submitted fishing reports for the month, Member B would win the monthly competition with 27 points.

If there are no reports sent in... will you be giving it out to whomever send in any reports?
I think a report should still require certain quality level as minimum.
Just my thoughts.

OK, MikeyMikey keep me updated on that potential prize.

Yes, there will be a minimum level of quality required. A report can't be something like:

"Hey I went fishing last year at lake X and caught some fish... sorry no pics."

To be eligible, a report must include: pictures of fish caught, a map that shows where the fish were caught and a detailed report about lures/techniques etc...

If only one person sends in an eligible report, that person will win by default.

If no eligible reports are sent in, that month's prize will be added to next the month's prize for a total of 2 prizes for the next month.

If two winners, how will you be split the prize?
Obviously there is that review by admin(s). But also user rating (Just in case you may need to give out a split decisions

I think it will probably be winner take both prizes! Added incentive!

I was looking into a "user rating" modification last week... I may install it... not sure yet.

Not sure how you'll be giving out the prize(s) but if it is person to person...

I would love to see a picture of winner receiving the prize and such for the record

and maybe keep that picture (small size) on the main page... show visitor what we are all about

I will be strictly mailing the prizes out.

It would be nice though if some members could take a picture of themselves holding their prize so we could show it on the main page.

Reporter of the month is a great idea. The only problem I have is giving directions to carp spots, these spots are tight cornered spots where you can only get 2-3 people into. If I where to give directions to the spot, then........ I could give directions to spots that I fish carp, where anybody whose anybody knows them. But I understand rules are rules, so I just give a report and not go for the prize.

Totally, don't have problems with the rules. I will submit my reports, if I can give detail I do, but if I can't Im still happy to share my report.

I just want to point out to you that your reports will be blocked from public view. They go into the protected GTA reports section where only those who have shared their secret spots with us will be able to view your report/s. It's totally safe! Try clicking on GTA reports and see what happens.

There are already a few carp reports in the GTA section right now. You would be surprised to see where our members have caught carp.

I really want to submit a report just only to have access to the Report Forums!
I want to see the pics and techniques used etc.
Hopefully I will at the least catch a 3inch sunfish and that will qualify to me writing a report. lol

I think you should properly read the rules before submitting a report like that.
