If you have submitted a report in the first reports section and are awaiting approval, please be patient as we have had a technical issue that has prevented us from granting you access to the reports section. This problem will be rectified ASAP.

Thanks for your patience.

lol. Now you can see that I've made a post under "Your First Fishing Report!" but once you go into the sub-forum my thread is nowhere to be seen.
Got me all excited and then was like WTH?!?
Guess their are still a few kinks to be worked out. All in due course meguess. *sigh*

On the bright side, I just won a bet proving that Rainbow Trout is actually Steelhead Salmon. Enough to buy me that braided line before Salmon starts. :)

Even though I made a report. I think its really dumb that you need to make a report before you can read a report?
If I have a report to leave, I gladly will....I know your going to say if nobody leaves a report, it will be just people reading others. But bottom line, its some pretty chincy rules as far as Im concerned. Denying people access to a report because they have not filed one is not the way to invite people to a fishing website. I will continue to post my reports, with my own format for the benefit of all anglers. I dont need to include maps of my exact location either. I dont need to read others reports if it means me posting my location and includes a specific formula of maps and pictures.

My 2 cents....

Thanks for your imput taasman. Reason being, it slows down the fishing pressure on these smaller ponds. Lurkers can just read the post then off they go. In fact if you frequent ANY fishing sites,usually if you identify a fishing local and be as specific as we usually are;they hang you up by the short and curlys!

This way the "experiment" we are doing does not get abused by the masses.
These ponds are usually fairly new waters and are a very young habitat for all things that swim....heavy angling pressure is the last thing they need.
This is not like your everyday fishing board...it was initally an experiment of fishing locations which have YET to be fished. The members here have grown quite rapidly due to a great site, nice people and a common interest;
it HAS strayed from its initial "purpose" because there are so many people now, and they all seem to like to share fishing experiances..even though it may be a well know fishing location such as the Toronto Islands.
There are lots of threads here that everyone can read, contribute to, and enjoy. But letting everyone know about a 200 square meter pond filled with young smallies will not help the pond in any way! We dont deny people access to other fishing reports; its just a way of encouraging people to get out and continue our experiment in finding new and uncharted fishing locals. BUT by being a new member with 1 or 2 posts; you would not have known this. OFF is not like your average fishing forum by any means. (I dont know of any other board that gives away prizes for posts and forum activity....directly funded by Openfires personal wallet Id like to add!! Thanks Openfire!)

Also you mentioned.."I dont need to read others reports if it means me posting my location and includes a specific formula of maps and pictures. "...well then why would you expect anyone else to share the same info with a lurker or you??
Chincy..but my 2 cents.

I think you better hold onto the mono line for now.......a steelhead is a trout but there IS a difference. A steelhead is a rainbow trout which is born in fresh water....then moves out and lives in the salt water,...then returns to the fresh water river. Therefore technically speaking in Ontario...no salt water means no Steelhead....just beautiful chrome Rainbow Trout...they also look alike but do have some small differnces in apperance and size too...

Well, let's not tell him that now, shall we? :)
