Rice Ice Gone - 3/20/2010

Hit the cottage this weekend and the ice is completely gone all the way from the east up to as far as I could see which is Margaret Island.

No icebergs flowing either. Water is very clear around the shoreline. You can see all the rocks and the bottom clearly.

Wet a line with a jig and grub and bobber but no action at all.

I was thinking of putting the boat in this weekend for panfish action but looks like a stretch of cold weather is coming. Possibly even some snow and temps in the minus range, so I will have to reconsider.

good luck with crappies everyone, but the real fishing will be down south
big rods, 50lb braid, 3oz sinkers and fresh cut bait on 4/0 circle hooks.....
anyway you know what i'm talking about :|

bring your boat if you can, you get 3 times more bites in deeper water than from shore.
im going with my buddies next sunday. with the warm weather should be good fishing.
