As fall approaches there is quite a dramatic drop in nightime temperatures but one thing that remains the same are the gorgeous sunsets. Saturday night was no exception.
Saturday morning the sunrise was also a very picturesque one.
Went out early Saturday morning and the action was non stop from about 6:30 - 9 am. The only thing not present were big bass. Caught in the neighbourhood of around 15 bass. Most coming in the 8-10 FOW range on Slammers. Was throwing some X-Raps as well outside and inside the weeds, but there were no takers. A good mix of smallies and largies nonetheless. Saturday was a great day weathwise.
Spent some time teaching my 2 year old to fish from the dock but she was more interested in reeling in like a maniac so needless to say when the rod was in her hand, she caught nothing but she was excited to see the Slammer on the end of the rod, kept calling it a little NEMO.
After seeing the forcast for Sunday, I was not sure how the fishing would be. Woke up early and saw nothing but a sky full of clouds. The wind was howling around 30 km/hr and there were some serious waves and whitecaps at times. Was on the water again from around 6 -9 am. Boy how the fishing changed. Was a bit slower did not catch as many as Saturday but the bigger boys showed up. Caught a few big ones and lost another monster after a few dramatic flips out of the water. The nice smallie in the picture also leaped and darted but I managed to land it without losing it. Again a nice mix of smallies and largies, also about a half dozen crappie, only one that I would call a slab though.
Looking forward to the long weekend.
