Rice Lake Master
Hit the cottage this weekend again and finally the weather was supposed to be a bit better than the previous weekends. Got up there in the late afternoon and my usual traveling buddy limited me from hitting the water as soon as possible. But dam he tasted good.

After taking it easy for a while I decided to head out for a bit but I had no luck on Friday night. Fishing seemed slow. Nothing to show for, not even any panfish.

After heading back to shore, was greeted by more alcoholic bevies and a beautiful sunset.

Got any early start saturday morning but rather then fish we headed over to Bellmere Winds in the boat to get in a round of golf. Man have they ever jacked up their prices from last year. Was way cheaper last season but it's nice to get out and play.

Course was in decent shape, greens very amazing for this early in the season, ran very true.

After a nice meal tried my luck off the dock for a bit before heading out in the boat.

The dock fishing brought me no luck so I headed out in the boat.
Was on the water for about 20 minutes in a previous spot on the edge of a weedbed that has brought me luck in the past and WHAMMO, I hook up with a nice 19" walleye. Didn't weigh it as it was released after taking a few pics. Once again it was caught on the Rapala Husky Jerk #10 in the Firetiger color.

After about another 10 minutes or so, on the same lure I hook up with something much smaller, was hoping for a nice panfish of any variety, was hoping for a Crappie but it fortunately it wasn't. This lure seems to really catch any sort of aggressive fish.

After a few hours of fishing had the first real bonfire of the season as the weather permitted.

Headed out on Sunday morning for a couple of hours with no luck. Seems the fishing was very slow all weekend according to myself but also other anglers. Tried a variety of tackle but nothing seemed to put numbers in the boat. Was locating fish but the bite just wasn't there.
In conclusion, the best part of the weekend was having my wife and daughter with me for the first time ths year. Just made everything else seem so less important.
