so we headed out on rice lake with another board member my dad and grandpa yesterday we launched the boat at about 8 o clock and fished some lillypads on the opposite of the launch site but caught nothing so we headed up the lake and drifted down and just before we were about to leave another member got a small catfish lol. After we headed up the lake and fished some lillys but only got 1 missed strike so we headed back down to fish the drop off my dad caught a walleye and we got numerous hits. At about 3 we headed into a cove near the opposite blue building i couldnt figure out what it was, we used top water frogs and first cast i hooked into a 3lb plus largemouth but it spat the hook my friend missed a similar strike. We continued to fish in the cove and my friend caught a largie and i caught a crappie. We drifted into another cove and tried for atleast 10 minutes to get the engine back up to make our way to the launch site.

The water temp was 74-82 degrees Fahrenheit and outside it was 30 celcius wind was about 10 to 15 kph it kept on fluctuating the coolest thing we saw that day was a bass boat with 7000 dollar power poles for anchoring lol ill post some pics soon
Tight lines everyone

Good thing you had better like then me out there :) I have yet to catch fish at rice lake

Well .... i wish i had pics but numerous off the dock fish at rice lake ... southern shore sunset bay 4 or 5 decent sized smalls and 1 or 2 largemouth i have a dollar store dual hook lure and the sunfish were even hitting that 1.5 inch's long .......

so to your post aln .... i just cant understand why ?? none the less ive been told this year rice lake is the hot spot ......

its just time for me to find a boat

Yah in not sure y either maybe it was a bad day, or I'm using the wrong lure. Or i just don't really know what I'm doing out there . Sigh. And I even rented a boat ... :(

It's a waste of time and money when that happens. We have to get together sometime and hit that lake hard. Hope you were'nt alone at the time, that's $100 and then you got to return it by 5pm just as the fish are beginning to bite. These boat rentals need to know that their boats should be back like 1 hour before sunset. Anyways, we'll have to meet up and get you into somemore fish. But don't expect like tonns of fish.....lol. Google "what's the most bass you've ever caught in one day" these seem more realistic numbers. Anyone can make false claims on the internet without proof. You usually have to be a very good angler to be a "Trophy hunter". Someone who knows the fish, weather, structure, and bait pattern, I tend to think of them as tournament or guide class. I'm no where near them. I'll bet even Dave Mercer gets skunked at least once sometimes.

Never give up.

ya we werent having much luck especially when we missed those lunkers one of the very few times ive been out on a boat i suggest cambpellford around the locks they have huge bass to be caught from shore
