Heading to rice lake tomorrow night. We will see what I get into. Hoping for. Tasty walleye for breakfast. Let ya know how it goes

Where abouts on Rice? I was there for a bass derby this past Sat, walleyes would have been a bonus but it was agonizingly slow. It will pick up for you tho, the cold front is gone. Almost everyone and their brother uses white grubs tipped with a worm on a jig. It works at dusk and drifting along weed lines or mud bottoms. it's no secret. Have you tried these Gulp Minnows? The reviews look really good, not cheap tho. Personally I don't like the leech, it's too big and too stiff. What do you plan to use for bait?

Best of luck and can't wait to see your lunkers.

We've actually been slaying them this year on bottom bouncer with two foot floating worm harness with worm drifting past the weed bed with a little help from trolling motor

Agh. Partner backed out after long drive there. Luckily cottage Only 20 min away. Trent river tonight and rice tomorrow

Rice lake is where my colleague and I started fishing. It was great. First trip we caught one giant small mouth bass (that's all). Second time we caught 9 perch and one sun fish

Hi im new to this board. This is my first post.
I grew up near Hastings and I used to fish off the train bridge.
We caught a lot of fish but never Walleye or anything like that.. Trout and sunfish mostly, shiners and chum

This might come as a surprise, but there are small Brook Trout in certain areas of Rice Lake.

^ fact, caught one two ice outs ago on a minnow fished a foot under my float while fishing for crappie.

Wow I apologize Arob. I've fished there many times and grew up 10 min away from rice and ice never heard that. But thanks guys that's great to know
