I live near Kitchener and I've been monitoring the rivers (grand/conestoga) around here to get a general idea of what might be happening in other tribs. Obviously the water has been high, but today I noticed a huge influx even though all the snow melted a couple days ago.
I was just wondering if this is the same across the board, and if rivers are realistically fishable in early spring? How long will this high water last, can we expect high blown out levels for the opener? Kinda new to trout fishing.
Thanks

I think the rivers will be high for next two weeks. The snow has to run off the hills an so called mountains. Everywhere is wiped out with high muddy water, an the only thing you would catch is drifting wood. Lol. Try at the mouths, with some Blue Fox lures. The water is not to dirty there.

hey,
i live in cambridge, i have seen the speed and grand, i know that the streams and creeks that run into or near the grand are awesome for fishing right now. but not open for trout..

the longer the river/creek, the more water it will collect, eg, the credit, vs bronte. bronte will more then likely drop in dirt and water levels way before the credit will.
