my spinning rod guides are icing up.....i remember there are solutions to this problem.....but not what they are...tips????
your advice my save my freezing fingers...thanks.

Raven has come out with a winter float rod, It has bigger guides on it. But other then that i always use vasiline or chap stick on my eyes and on first 20 feet of my line, except for below the float. nothing will work in -20 but this will help.

thanks....well i gotta fish from the piers of the harbour...so i got tons of line in the water.....i will try chapstick today and let ya know how it goes.

you can use several things to 'lube' up your guides. vaseline works well and so does chapstick. I have never used it but i've heard WD40 is a good one.

so i did not have a neutral smelling chapstick or lip balm so i tried the bait scent stick i had..its like a chapstick..but you do not want to mix this up and put on your lips...unless your cruising to kiss fish....
the scent stick washed off quickly with the wet line....but it was worth a try
i eventually had to quit after 5 hours the line on the reel froze so bad it became frustrating to cast.
