Rod suggestion for Trout Fishing

Going to be headed up to Algonquin in a couple weeks and would love to try for some trout. Any suggestions on a rod for a spinning reel? Sizes? Medium Light? Medium Heavy? Any tips would be great!

Id use a fly man. Tons of rivers with trout up there..

I'f you're sticking fo spinning...a 8'6" to 9' rod will suffice.

I'd like to but I've never tried it. Don't want to waste my opportunity learning

A 7' medium light with a mid-sized reel and 8 lb. test should be sufficient.

I would go 9' ultra light with 8 lb and tippets

Guess it depends what specific trout you're fishing for. Don't think you are going to get anything big enough to warrant anything heavier than a ML 6.5' rod. 6# line and watch your drag.

So far my money is on picking up a 7' Fenwick Eagle GT as I've heard great things about this rod and Fenwick. Thank you for all the suggestions
