Rod Tweaking

The wax is a good suggestion, but I'd take a close look at things for the cause of the problem. Could be a hairline crack or structural problem, and if that's the case manufacturers will usually replace the rod free of charge. If it was a mid range to expensive rod, take it back to the POS and see if they'll do anything first - worth a try IMO.

....my last resort for this problem over the years has been (if the earlier suggestions do not pan out) to put a little tissue paper around the male end and snug them together. If it's a beauty rod, old favourite, this will get some more life from it and not interfere with sensitivity to feel bites, strikes etc.

You can try using a bit of electrical tape around the male portion to make a thighter seal if your not returning to pos. Works great and you don't lose any sentisity on the bites.

All good and interesting ideas.
For my 20+ year old graphite rod I used dollar store epoxy ( which is what the rod is made of I believe) I cleaned it with isopropyl and put a very thin coating on the male end. Once cured I very lightly sanded the high spots with 400 wet/dry. It's good and very tight now.
