Hey I'm from Markham and really new to fishing, a real beginner, I was wondering what were some good spots in or around Markham that some people have had some real success at, and also what kind of bait and tackle you guys used

if you fish for carp...try milne dam...lot's of carp. average of 12 inches to 18 inches. chum corn but lots of chub in there as well. don't go at the bottom part of the dam, lot's of trout and steelhead but you can't fish for them. if you drive, i'd suggest lake simcoe.

How far are you willing to go and what kind I equipment do you have? Do you have a car? If you want alot of panfish with the chance of a bass I would say head to scugog. Toogood pond has bass and carp, but I believe fly fishing there is better for catching fish. There are alot of ponds in markham that you can explore or head to your closes bait / tackle shop and see if they can give you any info :) and keep an eye out for our meet ups an come chill

I haven't spent too much time but I've wet my line at Toogood twice now and have come up with anything.

There's a pond near Markville mall that I've rode past on my bike and I've seen some people fishing there. I have yet to check it out.
