Can't say much about the pin. I just got an Okuma Raw ii. I saw it on display along side the Ross Flow. Bought it at Lebaron's. No Tax promo btw.

Nah dude. Ross Flow is priced $270 at Lebaron's. I bought the Okuma because I spent $80 on the float rod already. But the "no tax" is great if you're buying big ticket items there.

I have not owned one but I have not heard anything good about it, apparently It was a bit of a disappointment coming from a manufacture like Ross. However someone who has or does own one would know better than me.

On the other hand the Isander and Raw are great reels. I can't see going wrong with ether of them.

I find the Ross is not a quality reel.
The RAW ii has an issue with the factory bearings getting slow after dunking the reel a few times. Good reel but keep it outta the water.
Your best bet in my opinion is a used Islander or KP reel.

Yeah my first pin was a raw II, like some of you mentioned it slowed up on me. Now I'm running a work horse of an adcock Stanton absolutely love it except the fact that it's a 5 inch ( not that I have small hands but it just seems like a lot of reel) I run my stuff pretty hard which I why I was looking at islander however I know of one guy who runs his Ross flow extremely hard and it seem to perform very well (rick off of the consummate sportsman YouTube page)

I highly suggest everyone take a look at that channel if you haven't already

I find the ross to be quite a decent pin. It has a quick release spool that pops off by pressing a couple tabs on the bearing shaft making it easy to clean out debris. The bearings are sealed too which prevent excess grit. It's very lightweight and has a decent startup. It is wide arbour spool, but still easy to palm. Not a fan of the handles though, bit too stubby

that link is for you to look at ross flow. there is 3 shops on Sheppard avenue east in toronto. you might be able to get DEALS with reels. "lucky" something, tackle or lure ask for the her son, or you will not be able to communicate unless you speak mandarin.

i don't know about ross flow, but for 330, i would save 400 for an islander that will last you many years of chinook fishing. it was made for west coast big bad chinook. and in a year you can upgrade the bearings, even though it will not make a huge difference in performance.

Also i like to add i am a HUGE fan of fast startup inertia with CP and nothing under 500 can do that. we are talking about slow water speeds. any reel spins in niagra.
