Hey everyone..i just bought a new reel today to replace the aging relic on my flyrod..but i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or viewpoints regarding the Ross Flyrise Reel..the guy at bass pro was a bit of a dick..actually..he almost fell more into the douche category cause he couldn't care about honestly answering any of my questions without making me seem like a knob and rushing me out..i didn't see any fire..but hey..maybe he didn't get to go fishing on the weekend..anyways..any info would be awesome..just wondering if i should leave it in the box or take her out for a spin..thanks..mikey..

Don't know anything about that reel, I'm still using spin gear. Are there any reviews via Google?

I tend to purchase my gear from Angling Specialties since the guy is quite knowledgeable with fishing gear. They even have their own brand of centre pin reels, which are out of my price range. I don't work for them, but I will recommend them as a faithful customer.

You might get a good price with Bass Pro, but the service does tend to lack, especially when they're busy on the weekends. On sales guy/gal is probably answering questions from 3 different customers.

Hahaha honestly i don't think I'm even going to bother with bass pro anymore..i keep going with the assumption that "this time, someone will care, someone" but to my dismay..no luck..and realisticly..supporting the smaller pro shops helps the economy..and keeps the sport alive!..maybe i'll write up a review on it sometime..

basspro got some stuff that small shops dont have.

also when stuff goes on sale at basspro its worth it.

yeah that's true..as much as i love supporting and visiting the cool smaller fishing shops..sometimes you just can't compete with the big guy's prices..p.s. i tried the reel out today and it's f-ing awesome!..
