Today morning along with my friends we decided to go here for catfish.Here is the report
The weather was nice & sunny.Not cold at all.The water was dirty due to rainfall & water level was also high.Some part of beach area is still covered with water.6 weeks ago i was here but could not get in as park entrance gate was closed due to construction.Now it is finally open.When we reached there there were some people fishing from new dock they made & 1 guy was fishing by the end of parking lot.The new dock they made is very nice.It very big and lots of room to move around.See pic below.Some small old dock they had is removed.
I tried using small hook with live worm only.but no hit.My friend tried using float technique but no luck.Did not stay much long.Was there only around 1:00-1:30hr.Got skunked but got some good info. The other guy fishing landed small sucker.The other people fishing from dock were far so didn't knew what they had.The guy who caught sucker was here yesterday around 3pm.He caught 2 good size catfish.He said some guys caught 2 big pike & 1 carp yesterday around 3pm.The pike was caught under the bridge(Season starts next Sat.So i don't know how they caught it and did not release).I will go here for sure later in this week for carp.Last year it was great here.I caught lots of catfish here.1 day i caught 3 cat fish under 5 min.Some day's are great here.Specially right after sunrise.Pike,carp,bass was also being caught by others from here.I recommend every 1 this place,specially new fisherman.It is great spot if you want2 take your family for fishing.I will give update when i will go again later in this week.In the mean time enjoy pic below
