Yesterday morning myself along with my friends we decided to this place for carp.It was great day for us and 1 of the happiest day of my life as i caught 1st big fish which i always wanted to.We reached there around 7am.There were some people already fishing from the new dock.It was nice & sunny when we reached there. Not too cold but later weather started getting cooler. As soon as we reached i had my rod already setup for carp.I just hooked some corn on the hook and casted same spot where other guy caught yesterday. In few minutes while i was helping my friend setup his rod i saw my reel spinning fast as i set drag very lose.I immediately tried to set the hook and tight the drag but some how it didn't hook properly and i missed it.Casted again in same direction and with in 15 min i had another bite. This time i had him hook properly but my drag was very loose that carp took my line very far i was out of control.I set drag to tight and tried to reel it in but it broke my line.I am sure it was monster carp i hooked. This was my first time i had big fish hooked on so i was confuse what to do.There was 1 guy from OFN.He is carp specialist. He showed me how to properly handle the carp+some tips.I set my line again and casted almost same direction. And in around 20 min i had another hit. This time i knew what to do.I landed the carp with few minutes. It gave a good fight & it was my first time i experienced good fight.I was very happy as this is first time i landed big fish since i started fishing last summer. The other guy also landed very big carp.It was around 25 pound. He was fully loaded with European carp gear.See pic below. We left there around 10:30 as it started getting cloudy and very cold.I also saw other people landing good size carp from the new dock.i didn't see any other fish being caught as i think water temperature is still cold and water level is also high.
I was not using any carp gear.I had my Quantum 6.6 medium action rod with Abu Garcia spinning reel with 14lb fireline. My line setup was simple.Just a egg sinker and hook with some canned corn on.
Well it was great day for me.I will go again there for sure.If you want some action I suggest you try out this place. In the mean time, enjoy pic below
