i guess you just have to find out my friend. who knows what awaits on the river mouths right now.

I don't think anyone can really pinpoint to you when exactly to go and would guarantee you're going to catch something.

The Hydro level chart is a good indication of whats happening or @ least gives you an idea of what Did happen already ...... check out the post in the Salmon Steelhead section Stickey'd @ the top of the page . Its Called a Tip for timing Salmon runs for Noobs :) Awesome Post

if you base it on the Data, rouge river is suppose to be really good tonight...again, if you base it from there.

ooops...i'm talking about highland creek not rouge. base on the DAta.

Be interested to know if anybody saw/hooked fish over there...a simple yea or nay would do, I certainly would expect some fish to be kicking around there, like, oh just about any trib these days lol

I don't mean to dampen your enthusiasm for the Rouge River, but assuming that the salmon numbers for the Rouge are relatively similar to the Steelhead numbers for the Rouge, I would say that there are much better options out there.

I know for a fact (spoke at length with the ministry) that the Steelhead numbers for the Rouge are tiny compared to the East tribs and Credit etc... We're talking about a couple of thousand max, compared to 10X that number and more for the aforementioned tribs.

By all means try the Rouge if it's nearby and convenient and please do report back. Best of luck!

Went by there on Monday night after the rain for 2 hours. No luck and did not see any activity. Nobody else fishing, no fish surfacing or jumping. I didn't get any hits either. This was at the mouth.

thanks fire...we found a couple chinny carcasses n 2 boots holdin in current there late season last year, nothin to write home about but it's a nice clean quiet outta the way trib which is rather rare for urban creeks, less fish=less guys, I'd rather fish a hole with a pod of say 4 or 6 fish than a hole with 60 and just as many guys+ their garbage, that day we got 1 steelie each and decorated a tree at every hole with shiners lol
