well was at the mouth and at glen rouge and the water was deader than elvis--my question is if the salmon run generally around late august to late september and the trout follow after---where are the fish man?? i caught a tiny tiny little trout the other day at glen rouge--and thats it...you think duffins would be better?

Rouge is 5 minutes from my house and I've spent time there. Nothing special... I'm waiting for it to surprise me one day.

Easy carp there in the spring! Check it out :)

fished the rouge for a few hours today, under highway 2 and 401 bridges and walked up river a bit. nothing but chubs and shiners. spotted one smaller chinny but hardly any action. i guess we need a heavy rainfall to raise the waters up for the steelhead to enter the rivers around here. at the mouth i noticed it to be down 2-3 feet! we need rainnnn

the salmon run seems to be done for rouge and duffins. there are still some salmon lingering around in the rivers but for the most part the salmon are done. the majority of the remainder are way up in the rivers.

for the entire run or is it because they have passed already? please explain

There are several runs of fish. Most of them have probrably gone upstream and found a place to spawn right now. You'd see pairs of salmon in shallow water, they're spawning. Sometimes they hang out in the lower part of the river, sometimes the fish go straight up as far as they'd like to go... I'm just talking in general here... I haven't found consistent salmon in the rouge before.

I'm not sure if there's any rule to how far the fish go in one day. If only I knew :p
