Check it out! It's finally cured! Now I don't have to buy them anymore. It has a very fishy smell to it now.

The curing was easy.

First I had to catch a female salmon.

Then drain all the blood from the eggs.

Then pour the eggs in a jar with the curing powder thats sold in stores. Then mix it.

Then I had to wait for osmosis to do its thing and now the eggs have more scent then ever!

i normaly buy eggs but this year i'm gonna try and catch a late salmon so eggs are single.Rapala boy one question do u put that jar in freezer now or u just leave it in the fridge and use them when ever u want.

Good question. On the curing bottle it says once it's cured it can be frozen up to a year or refrigerated for months. I would let it cure in the fridge first though. By the way I had to use my hands to turn the skein into single eggs so a late salmon would be a good choice if you don't want to get you hands dirty.

I just finished tying some roe bags. Sticky smelly stuff, but here's something that will surprise you:

When I put my finger in the fish aquarium the fish bit my finger!!!

"Then drain all the blood from the eggs."

what's involved there?
I have about 10 lbs of eggs sitting in the fridge that I need to cure and bag.

I once threw a live earthworm into my aquarium tank for giggles and my loaches only nibbled at the thing.

my oscar tries to eat my finger every time its in the tank without any added scent. Today i put in a 2.5"ish convict cichlid in with him and hes been trying to eat it for the past hour, eventually he will succeed.
