(sorry i didnt know how to post the map on here)
We arrived arouund 8 pm. I observed the area to see if anyone was having any luck. I didnt hear a single yell "FISH ON!" while i was doing my observation. I set up my rod and put on a roe bag. I casted hoping to get sum quick hits. I sat there for 2 hours before getting a hit. I got a hit but i couldnt set the hook in. I went without a hit for the next 2 hours. So i decided to swtich to a silver spinner i had. After casting and reeling for about half hour i decided to call it a night. I did not see one person land one while i was there. I went to the car to catch some sleep. I woke around 4:30am and i casted my roe to see if they were feeding. I sat for about 45mins without a hit. The cold got to me so i went back to sleep. I woke again around 7am and i talked to some locals and they said i didnt miss anything while i was a sleep. They said the night before there was a crazy run and just about everyone was landing a salmon. So maybe i was too late? I went at it again with the roe bag. Not a hit for 3 hours. So i walked over to the mouth to see if anyone had any luck there(I was fishing off the dock right where you park). I saw some people landing a few. So i decided to try there. For about an hour, no pick. So i asked lad who was landing them left right and centre what he was using. He was floating his eggs, but he was using fresh eggs gut from a female. I didnt have any fresh eggs so i stuck with my store bought roes. So i put on a floater (sheffield 4.0gram). No luck for 2 hours. So decided to move back to my spot close to the gas pumps. I was just about it call it a day around 6:30pm. Just before i could reel in my line, WHAM!. Huge strike. And right beside me (at the same time) my brother got a wicked strike also (2 different fish). Our fish crossed and his line snapped. But not mine. Mine turned around and started to swim towards the mouth. This one was about 20 pounds from the way it was fighting. Once it started up to the mouth, it caught on someone elses line. And it snapped my leader. After that i decided to stay for a bit longer. For the next 2 hours there hitting everyones line. I had about 3 on my line but kept getting off because i wasnt setting my hook properly. Then 8:30pm came and i just had a big strike. I fought the beast for about 5 mins before he got tired. Pulled him close then netted the beast!. (Pictures Below)
