Caught this bad boy flyfishing on a west trib this morning using a wooly bugger fly (no float).

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. I'm heading out Friday for some salmon (hopefully). I'm travelling from London..should I head West or East? I'm going with 3 guys who are newer than I am with river fishing..so it would ne nice to even land a cpl bass for some action.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Fish in the west are all dead on the banks. Dont waste your time. Water is crystal clear. Only the odd staggler in the deeper pools. Amazing how many dead cohos i witnessed. Agree...leave em alone. Water was like soup.

The west this year is taken its sweet time from what I am reading. I was out on a West trib a couple weeks ago, there were a couple but no signs of a run. with all this warm weather and no rain, I havent bothered to go back in the west.

The east is a beast this year as others have said. Hooked numerous salmon, landed a nice number of em.

West has been a complete failure this year, not good numbers off the pier, and not any any sort of run up the rivers.p

Yup, not much out west. Lots in the east though. To any lurkers who happen to be reading this: go east

has anyone had any luck at the East tribs lately (Oakville'ish area)? Thinking of heading out tonight to chuck some spoons from the pier. Its raining today and the surface temps look pretty good.
