Still any salmon to be had at the rivermouths?

I haven't gone in a couple weeks (have lots of exams)...

There are butt load of ready to die salmons in the river...

I am sure there are still some late running salmons to be had... plus steelheads? Brown trouts? to follow.?
Not too sure, gotta do some asking around first.

All I can say is... back when we started was so much better, even tho water temp/air temp was near or plus 30'C.

I know I am gonna start fishing even earlier next year.

Water is all dirty now with the rain. Gotta wait for it to clear a bit.
If there isn't much action... I could always go for a long ass drive to Niagra Whirlpool and have a lot of the lures snagged or just a float and roe @ Humber River .

Mikey, with the right gear you can fish any of the eastern tribs from now till march!!!!
The bows will be in with almost every rainfall now!!

i'm with mikey...
tend to like the casting at the mouths of the rivers...and not actually wading in them.

i also wonder if they stage out there just like the salmon...

Yes they do sorta stage outside the mouth of the river. The bows are on the lookout for fresh roe, SO..with every rainfal they will venture up stream. Hold in a deep pool till the next rainfall and then travel up stream again.. Casting is great but Id say you would find many more steelies; (Not real steelies but we'll call them that) in the deep pools ALL WINTER LONG!!

Welll. ,.. i checked their vending machine out side and it does have a label saying "Roe" $6. can't remember for how many. Worm Too.

I thought it is illegal to catch rainbow trout at this time of the year? Correct me if I am wrong?

Well Im not sure what area you are talking about but the tribs from Lake O. are open for bows all winter..If ya go out in the middle of Feb. you will see guys lined up the river bank.
Now dont get me wrong, Im sure there is areas closed but you should check you regs on where you want to go.
