yes.

We hit the credit river mouth this morning at 5:30am in our canoe. We covered a lot of water, as much as we could given the waves we were facing in our very small craft =P. Did not have glow-in the darks, but used red/white spoons, silver spoons, mepps, silver crankbaits, even a whacky rigged art. worm when we got desperate XD

Regardless, not a single bite for us or any one of the 20+ anglers in the area and up the shore. One group said they caught yesterday. we were there 'till 10:30... yes 4.5 hrs in a canoe quite the stretch (when there are waves)! Then we stopped by Humber river's mouth on the way back but it was very hot... no bites there either.

Want to bring home salmon for the old grandpa who can't fish anymore! Will keep on it.

If anything I did you a favor.

#1. I saved you gas money if you planned on driving to the credit.

and

#2. If you happen to find the trib in question (trust me., its not that hard to figure out) , you'll be thanking me I didn't post it as it would bring waves upon waves of people.

For instance, Bronte Pier on Friday night.. all I can say is WOW.. Shoulder to shoulder must have been 300 people. Everyone sitting on bottom and 1 guy chucking spoons. 0 fish caught.

Do a little leg work, find somewhere close by with 100+ fish. Fun all night :)

People come to the internet to be spoon fed. Those first few days when fish are in the river are crucial when only a few people know about it, because before long the word spreads and there's 300 guys in 1 pool chasing 2 fish.

If you don't understand that, then you must not have been salmon/steelheading tribs for too long.

:)

Well, that's me! I'm just going to keep trying new tribs every day... but the fish move...

so i was hoping the power of the internet would allow us all to win.

Hey MA, you will find guys like that. Quick to brag about success but not eager to share info or reports. Get used to it. Its funny that certain posters always claim success but never have proof to back it up.

How about a report or some pics?

Dirk

I can post some pics when I get home, at work right now :)

That's what you have to do. One minute the fish are stacked at the mouth, within 5 minutes, they could all be back out 300 feet down in the lake, or 10km up river.

Trust me man, you'll feel a lot better about yourself when you do some leg work by yourself and find a pool of 500 salmon and have it all to yourself. Wouldn't you want to go back to that pool the next day and not run into 10 other guys fishing it?

I'm all about sharing of information.. I will gladly talk to anyone I see on the river and give them info, but posting on the internet, well.,. lets just say I learned my lesson from posting too much information on certain sites in the past years.

There are some pretty crazy diehards out there who like to send death threats when you post information about "their hole" or "their run".

It's a scary world out there.

Forgive me for having a job. I don't live on the interwebs.

I sent him a pm. I'm not going to post certain things for everyone to see.. I would have sent one to you too, but making a comment like that, you can find the fish yourself :)

For a second I read that as hand job. It's no big deal finding the fish. Just gotta look at the recent weather and their usual yearly movements.

As to not disappoint or talk out my arse.. Here you go..

First off I would not want a PM from you, as I never asked for a spot or specif info, nor do I give someone with 11 posts, 6 in this thread alone credit.

I do not fish tribs for salmon or trout because I know nothing about it. If you read some of my posts, you would know that.I am just looking to learn and not afraid to ask. Nowone is asking for a specific spot. A general report would be nice instead of just saying I smashed them for 4 hours or whatever time frame it was.

Heh. You think because I have a low post count on a website means anything? I've been lurking this forum for like 3 years. I just finally decided to sign up so I could answer someones question since they needed help.

I am very well known by a majority of the steelheaders in Ontario.

Not to mention I'm friends with a lot of the big guides on rivers like the Niagara.

I would gladly share information with you on the river, just not on the internet.

Lightweight :p
17 hours is my personal record, but I'm almost as nutty as the guys going out in pontoon boats, if you've fished the N.Shore for more than a season and seen the guy going out by himself in the green canoe, that's me. There are better harbours to fish out of canoes, the mouth of the Credit is pretty shallow so if they're not running you have to paddle a long way out to find them holding. Man made harbours like Bronte are a better bet because deeper water is only a few hundred meters off the pierheads,

This.
Look at a stocking list, look where there are OFFSHORE winds, go to where the fish are on. Between Niagara & Port Hope there's only about 50 places to catch salmon where you don't have to floss them in a ditch.

As for the trollers looking for low hanging fruit, bring back the closed reports forums and you'll start to see more fish reports. I've seen fifty guys show up at a single spot in January because somebody posted on the internet the fish were on.
