Hello,

First Saturday of May (May 1st)

Who is planning to visit Toronto Harbor? Toronto Center Island? for pike fishing?

It look likes weather will be nice as well.

Hey Mike, I think I will be there, and maybe Tangledline as well, it's a busy week for him so not sure if he will make it. If I do go, and I am pretty sure I am, I will be going early, the place will be packed. Last year on the opener there was hundreds of guys out fishing...and I am not even sure if that was a Saturday...so you need to arrive early and find a good spot, I already have my first couple of locations scouted out, and will be hitting them early. The regular Saturday crown will make it even harder. There should be some guys from other fishing forums there as well that know the island and have there spots, soooooo like I said, get in early or lose out on some fantastic spots.

Oh crap,

I won't be able to go on Saturday. I checked my calendar and I am working for a bud at work.

Darn it!

I think I am gonna try to go either Monday or Tuesday (Noon hours or so) or both days, haha...

Not sure if monday/tuesdays will be a good days go.... freaking all the pikes will have been caught/attacked/annoyed by hundreds of fishermens from Saturday & Sunday.

Oh well... atleast I'll be able to fish with less crowd.

Maybe I'll try near Humber Bay park after work, maybe Ashbridge? I remember seeing some monsters @ Humber @ you know where that spot is, wink wink.

I guess this is open to anyone - how does the Toronto Harbour/islands compare with Humber and Ashbridge's for Pike? What are the pros and cons of each? It might help me decide where to go over the weekend

The Islands have A LOT of water to cover, when I went there for the first time I only covered the southern part of Ward's and a bit of centre island. Also, I've been to Humber Bay on picnics and stuff when I was a lot younger, but which part is fishable for pike? I'm guessing casting into Lake O? I remember when I was young I saw a huge fish swim by, it was probably a carp.

Heck, if you have time and leg power to walk along the entire Toronto harbour... do it.
Well... more like Spadina all the way to Toronto ISland boat, than you can take the boat to goto the Island and finish off your day

Now ther is a plan for ya :)

Uh oh!

Thundershower on Saturday the opener.

Just like how it was last year? or previous openers.

Either way, it's the earliest opener yet! Can't get any earlier opener than this right? hehe

Cool, well almost COLD! weather we had last few weeks during nights
