Popped up on my FB feed thought I'd share.

GONNA BE THERE on MY BIRTHDAY!

* Hoping to be able to fill as many bags as i have in years! (Thats a lot of friggin bags)

The DON was ONCE, the jewel of GTA fisheries (Like about 250 years ago)

"Some day".... it will hopefully resemble the efforts being put into our other tribs.

If you cant get out and help clean on this particular day, may i make a suggestion:

Next time your walking in a park, going for a jog ...
Take a sec and pick up some OTHER PIGS Waste and throw it in the Trash can which is most likey ten feet away.

* No HERO MEDALS, but if just 1% of us did that a "little more often".... OH WHAT a CLEAN PLACE things would be.

LONG LIVE THE DON! (It's not a Sheet hole, just a forgotten GEM that needs some love)

I was thinking of heading down and doing some cleaning then perhaps some spoons for pike along the waterfront.

:D

So all I need to do is show up for this and register? I'd like to head out if I can. I remember 2 months ago I was casting some spoons under a bridge. I have a bag hang on a tree for my garbage. Guy next to me tossed his empty timmy's cup right next to me. Just have to tell him that's why I hang that bag there. He was so sorry and left the area all to myself to fish all day. I see a lot of empty lure packages anywhere I fish too. I mean...c'mon.

Some guy on the pier said it best...

If you can carry the darn package out here when its full you can carry the darn thing outta here when its empty!

Register on the site if you can, so we know how many people are turning up. We will provide bags and gloves etc, and a few of the ambassadors are planning a fishing session afterwards (weather permitting).

Good call Blair. I usually carry an extra garbage bag with me when I fish and have no problem filling it. It is not usually to heavy to carry out as half of what I am carrying is foam worm containers.
Pigs is right, if you can carry it in you should be able to carry it out. Actually anything Pigs leave behind is lighter than when they carried it in because it is empty if they leave it. No one leaves their full beer containers. Lmao.
There is one thing that I find a lot that particularly bothers me and that is messes of fishing line on river banks. Those tangles can mean injury or death to fish, wildlife and water fowl. Not to mention, a fisherman could get tangled up and fall hurting himself or worse.
I applaud the effort. I won't be there as I am in Hamilton, but I make my own effort every time I go fishing.
Thank you, thank you. No medal required.

Alfie.
