I've been wanting to try out my new ultralight set up. I live pretty close to the Humber River and have a great spot for creek chubs. Only downside is that it's maybe 50 meters south of the Eglinton bridge, and trout and salmon season currently is north of this bridge. My only fear is running into a cop thinking that I'm fishing for trout with my ultralight setup.

As long as its not a fish sanctuary, go for it! I don't know much about the tribs rules, except you can't fish above the 401 right now..and I'm not sure if that changes on Jan 1. Otherwise, Barrie Marina probably is still open. I had an urge to go, but I'm just so pumped for ice fishing now. Can't wait to try it out!

Hmm, these regulations are placed awkwardly, because right below the "Extended Fall Seasons Box" is the "Open all Year" box which states that trout and salmon are open all year between Eglinton Ave and Lake Ontario. SO I guess I will give these chubs a taste of my ultralight.

yes you are correct that the humber is open season year round below eglington and right down to lake ontario...
please note...there are regulations stating that you can not fish 50 meters up or down stream from any fish ladder or
falls....check this out for exact details....also as of the cold weather...lots of areas are completely frozen over...
do not walk or venture out on the ice for it occurs over fast moving water and can be of considerable danger to you.
you may still find some open areas...get a line in there and best of luck to you....
