Me and my Buddy Aaron were out on simcoe early this morning.
We fish kempenfelt Yesterday and looked for some structure in 40fow for the fall for when the big smallies are going to come in. Caught a few smallies and perch but nothing of major size. I told him we'd fish out on simcoe to go get some real smallies the next day.
We headed out early. 7am we were on the water. It was pretty calm and over cast and they were right where I had left them about a month ago Shallow and putting on the feed bag.
As soon as the wind got up the sun got out of the clouds simcoe got blown up pretty bad. But I knew it would turn on the fish. We caught as much as we lost on jerkbait and cranks.
one of Aaron's smallie.
Aaron hooked into a few nice sand donkey's with his jerkbait....For some reason I was stubborn and kept throwing a crankbait and kept losing fish.
I put few smaller ones to the boat but on a five fish limit they would of all been cuddled by the swamp donkey's (largies)we found later.
I found on spot on simcoe where these donkey's were hidding. It was fun to catch quality largies on simcoe.
My Swamp Donkey's
Caught a lot of fish. Most fish had a packed up belly and it was evident they were already starting to pack up because of the cold nights we've been having.
