Went out to Simcoe for perch yesterday being saturday, took my nephew. We were fishing @ the virginia warf dock off of Hadden rd in Virginia. We were out there from 10am till 3pm, the air temp was 17, but raised to 22 by afternoon. I was using a team Diawa reel/rod medium 6'6 combo w/10lb test. i konw i'm fishing perch, but that's what i have. the kid had a 6' bps stampede rodreel combo with 8lb test. The day was a bit overcast, got a few drizzles,wind blowing east.The bite was really good, we caught about 15-20 jumbo's after 1pm, and a crap load of 8-10 inchers. As for bait pinhead minnows tubes and worms all worked. (red, pink tubes was the best colour)and presentation the setup was a dropshot method.the kid had alot of fun, but thats what it's all about.
