This pond is located in Simeon Park, on the west side of Woodbine Ave, just north of Bethesda side rd.
This pond is on private land owned by Magna corporation. From what I understand, the company uses this park as a recreational facility for it's employees. Activities include picnicing, BBQ's, soccer, baseball, hiking (walking) and of course, fishing.
When I went in, there were 100 - 200 people enjoying the park on a nice summer day. There was a gate-house in the road-way leading into the park, but had no attendant and it appeared as though the gatehouse had not been in use for a few years. There was also a sign that said park closed at 9:00 pm... so if you try this pond, make sure you leave before the park closes or they may lock the gate with your car still in the parking lot!
Although this facility is technically only for Magna employees and their guests, there are so many people there that no one asked me any questions. Fishing is definitely allowed in the pond, since there was a sign that said "fishing" that pointed to the trail leading down to the lake.
There is a trail that leads around the whole lake, so shore fishing is accessible from all sides. They have also put in a dozen or so docks evenly spaced around the entire lake which makes fishing even easier.
As for the fishing... I assume that this pond has 1000's upon 1000's of fingerling bass, since I was getting them pretty much every cast with the miniking. It was as though they had just recently stocked the lake with bass fry a year or 2 ago. I did get a few bigger LM, but I stopped fishing at that point since I was targetting perch and crappie. This lake seems to have only bass. I didn't even see any sunfish!
This lake might be a pretty good bass lake in a few years when these fish grow a little bit larger.
