Simms Freestone Wading Pant

Never had pant waders, only chest waders. I would go with the chest waders vs. pants because you may need to go deep sometimes. I once fell in the shallows and the water line went above my waist... if I had wading pants my sweater and shirt would def. be wet.

I've got 2 pairs of chest a hunting pair and a pair of bare's couple years old too hot for me in summer months they won't be worn in winter

Yeah the summer months are brutal - especially wading into cold headwaters on hot summer days with no waders - bone chilling cold. I hope someone will chime in who has experience with pant waders ( I need something to keep my feet warm and legs protected ) however I'm assuming they wont be much cooler than chest waders... in fact I think they would be just about the same. At least with the chest waders you can vent out the super warm air inside... these pant waders look like the belt would hold that air in? Dunno...

Ya I could agree with that... Either way I wouldn't mind seeing how the freestone in general had held up on average . That is more what I am looking for in this thread.

Oh dude, nothing to worry about. Rock solid and built to last

i bought a pair last spring and have been using them hard at least once a week in warm/winter.
haven't leaked yet.. i swear i had a couple of hooks go through certain parts but i still manage to stay completly dry in them
i would say go for it

My local Sail burlington store has the G3 pant waders while these are a little more money the reviews seem to be excellent . They will also be having there store wide discount sale in a couple of weeks so that is a 15 % discount. does any one have a opinion between the two waders given the fact the G3 are probably double the cost , is the price difference worth it??
