Tonight I bought some Simms Freestone waders. Going back on payday to get the boots. Ive always had neopreme waders with the boots attached never had just sock feet. Wondering whats better to go with for the boots. Looking at Simms Freestone, or Freestone felt. Any pros/cons for the felt soles. Im thinking the felt sole is more likely to fall off before a rubber sole would wear?

Anyways looking forward to hearing what you guys think.

Thanks!

I found that the felt soles are real slippery on ice. I just use the regular freestones now since I do lots of winter fishing. The disadvantage I found with the rubber bottom was that it's slippery on algae, but that won't be a problem soon. I'd go with the rubber.

Nice man! I actually bought some freestones yesterday as well! Ended up buying freestone boots to go with it. Cant wait to get on the water and try them out

Yes the rubber is better...
Felt soles play a role in the spread of some invasive speices...
