Went up to the shack late in the morning on Saturday and hit the water around 1 pm. Fished for a few hours and all i could mange were a couple of rock bass, a tonne of perch, some were in the 10-12 range and a couple of walleye in the 16-17 inch range. I didn't catch any bass which was shocking. I tried numerous spots and numerous depths but nothing worked. Went out again after dinner and again only perch and rock bass this time. Temps were 67 F.

Again I was using a Slammer but since even they were slow, this is one of the few weekends were I had to try out other stuff. I was throwing X-Raps and other Rapalas in blue and white and firetiger, Strike King 3S and 4S I believe in Sexy Shad colour, top water buzzbaits, Zara Spook, Tubes and Senko's but the only thing that produced even though not much were Slammers......

Water temp on Sunday morning was 61 F and the temp outside was -1 C. It sure was chilly waking up and had a fire going to keep me warm Sat night. Sunday was a complete right off, I managed 1 crappie, 1 rock bass and 2 bass, again no smallies which was shocking to me. I tried shallow and deep, drop offs, rocky ponits, weeds and just about every piece of tackle I owned but came up pretty much empty. The only thing great was the weather. Can't catch them every day.

Nice perch and walleye

yeah, when its cold, the buggers stick they nose to the rocks and stop feeding. In fact, we were fishing a lake some time ago and it was not producing as it used to, guessed that there has been a cold front in that region and when checked, it was indeed the case. You can tell the past weather ups and downs from the number of bass caugth in the same period

Nice pics, that one bass has great colour!

Meppsman - I always love fall time pike fishing. Where I go, it seems to produce the biggest fish around this time of year. Thats just my experience tho

I was up at Rice lake this weekend also! It was a slow weekend for us this weekend also. Throwing out a lot of our tackle also; crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinners, spoons, tubes, senkos, and what not and still didnt produce much either. The only fish i caught were a bunch of perch, couple nice smallies and my brother lost a huge musky! Was easily 40+ inches
The lake seemed like it was starting to turn over so maybe thats why the fish were slow.
I never got a chance to try the slammers like you said last week but I did have fun either way!

Wow great pics. Love that size of walleye too. Did the cold front make them lite bites? When I was on Scugog Sat, as soon as the sky cleared, about 1pm, the perch were hitting hard. No walleye but we were going for bass and in 2 ft of water it warms fast so the fish were small but really active. Great bass too, my stand by lure was'nt effective either, it only worked for our jumbo perch! I didn't bring my pike lures, maybe I should have. Do they bite now? Frank25 was so happy to get his bass, wait till he gets a pike..............lol Gotta love pike on the line! Thanks for the report.
