With less time these days, I only tie out of necessity. Well, there was a need to tie a nano fly since the pesky Stickleback would attack my ultra small splitshot but only peck gently at the tiny flake of nightcrawler I had on the end of the tanago hook.

Hopefully this gives them a target to hit. I think I'll still tip the hook point with a flake of nightcrawler to mask the smell of head cement.

I think I'm ready to tie #32 dries. Anyone knows where I can get Tiemco #32? I search online and they seemed to be sold out everywhere. :(

Going to try this fly today...Wish me luck.

What's the smallest fly you've tied?

havent tied any myself but have seen some ants that were ridiculously tiny.
if thats a grain of rice in that pic they were probably just a bit smaller then that bug you made. guys were fishing like 1inch fish with them though so i guess its relative.

seeing stuff like this is pushing me towards getting into making my own though. so many possibilites

I don't know what size hook that is. It's a special hook from Japan called the tanago hook. The hook point is about 1mm long, but the shank is longer in comparison to the hook point.

It is smaller than the #26 that I have at home. Possibly around #28 or #30 in size.
