Just wondering if there are any smallies around at this time of the year, more specifically in the west tribs. I haven't had any luck finding any but I see tons of people posting pictures of recent catches (though a lot are from the grand and father up north).

I recently saw some jumping at the mouth of the Credit and know they were a little upstream a couple weeks ago but with the Salmon coming in soon, I don't think there would be many smallmouth bass still upstream.

Lots of Smallies around. Indeed the Grand is a great place for them.
A lot of western tribs hold them, they don't actually leave because of the Salmon. They are still there, you just have to fish harder and be a little more patient because the amount and size of the Salmon kind of spooks them. As does the increase in the amount of anglers.
Salmon fishing techniques also differ quite a bit from Bass fishing so that results in them not being seen as often. I catch Bass in western tribs up til Oct and even Nov, but not that often, I don't fish Salmon, that is a shitte-show. I am mostly targeting 'bows and Browns that are feeding on Salmon eggs floating down-stream, but often switch to spinners and small spoons for the Trout which does result in Bass as well.

I have explored quite a few different creeks, rivers up and down a fair distance as well as tried fishing around their mouths, no luck yet. Alfi that sounds a lot like my plan for this fall, I really want to get some trout, I dont really think I am ready for salmon yet to be honest. What area do you fish around?

Hey Doorhandle, I just worked a 14 hour shift and am beat  . I'll drop you a PM tomorrow.

Alfie.
