Smelt Run

Hi,

Does anyone know if the Smelt run has strted? I was doen at Queenston yesterday and saw a whole bunch of guys with their families with bigpoles and nets waiting for the smelt. I did not see any while I was there around 6pm. Since I was like to go for one I was wondering if anyone else would know for sure.

Well I am near Parry Sound and the smelts were done here about a week ago ..they ran earlier then I have ever seen with the warmer and short ice season...and another hint is smelts run the best between 10pm and 1pm during the darkness .. I got mine April 1st.....Sorry to let you know they have passed..

Glad to report that the Smelt are definitely in the lower Niagara River. I was down there last last and the guys had their buckets full of them.... Good luck
