No better month to go hunt for chrome than November. There is just something about going out on cold November mornings and smashing fresh chrome steelhead that is so satisfying :D

This has been an exceptional fall with lots of hard fighting steelhead for everyone, and I'm sure the fun will continue until ice-up!

I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to steelheading and I've still got a lot to learn. Bait choice, different rigs and setups, depth, time of day, temperature... so many factors that can make the difference.

Most of my fish have come on roe bags this fall, but I would like to concentrate on getting into jigs and flies. It's hard to switch up when you're doing so well though. But we'll see how it goes.

Enjoy the pics... some of the best photos this fall came from this past weekend.

This little guy was insane!
I hooked up with this fish and fought it for about 5-10 seconds. It then wrapped me up in wood and broke me off at the leader.
I retied and a few drifts later, get another fish on. I land the fish and see a line coming out of it's mouth. This was the same fish that broke me off a few casts before! While examining the fish, I realized that there was another line and hook coming out of it's mouth. So in total... there were 3 lines, 3 hooks and 3 roe bags in the mouth of this small steelhead. This fish wanted to be caught so bad.

Gorgeous PICS (Fish) as ALWAYS FrozenFire.
I like this one the MOST.
Just amazing PINK COLOUR (not red, beautiful Shade of Pink)

Your action shots are also terrific.
Unfortunately , I've been out at night alot so its next to impossible to get any kind of a shot other than STATIC with the flash.

THANK YOU for the AWESOME SHARE!

Great shots!! *thumbsup*
-You really got into some nice bows,

Thanks for sharing... it just made my morning,

RE: that thing in your hand...half eaten, mud covered, night crawler?

Some real tanks there man.

I'm counting down the days when I can fit my waders on again!

Looks almost like a caterpillar.. I was going to say hellgrammite, but no legs...

All photos are amazing, but this was my favorite.

Fish looks confused lol
Hey Mr. Fire...is that a short handled net that you are using? You hang it around you somehow?

Any other commenters on using nets for shore or shallow wade fishin?

Yes, I always carry around a short handled net. The only times I don' t have it with me, is simply because the net was too far from the shore, or I completely forgot to bring it.
I'm a 100% catch and release steelheader. Never harvested one and don't plan to any time soon.
The net makes things so much easier. And it doesn't harm the fish. Scoop them up, unhook, release. They don't have to flop around on rocks and dirt injuring themselves.

The net does come with a small clip at the end so you can fasten it to your wading jacket or waders.

yours looks like its on steroids compared to the ones I just saw on google

I have been LAZY!

I will be picking up a Small (easy to carry and use) NET.

My apologies ... (Seriously) for not having one in the past.
I will be the first to admit to fish "Flopping on the rocks... etc"

When there really is no need for that, then why let it occur?
No one is perfect, but changing some "Small Habits" to improve the sport you enjoy ... is not a sacrifice.

Thank you for REMINDING me of this!

I have fished for salmon in Nfld. The magazine published by the local anglers assoc. will not publish pix of 'big ones'( i.e too big to keep) if their belly is out of the water. Maybe we should be advocating a similar high standard.
