Some helpful advice please.

Hi. I'm new to this and never did and serious fishing in Ontario as of yet. I just got my hands on a boat so I really want to get out a least a few times. I live in Pickering ON and would like to catch some trout. (or I guess as good tasting as trout) Can anyone give me some advice in which area to head. BTW, I grew up fishing but not in Ontario. Oh yeah, what's the best tackle for Ontario trout? And I just thought of another question. I purchased 12lb line for my reel. Should I return it or is that too big?

Hey Chris,
Are we talking - Lake Trout. If so Lake Simcoe is close by for you. Whitefish and Trout open this weekend. How big is your boat? For Simcoe - that's kinda important!
