Sort of a newbie needs help

Hi, im new to the OFF forums and I have a few questions about the spring trout run.. I'm quite experienced with bass and pike and other warm water fish, but I've had a hard time with trout and salmon, I'm going fishing in an east trib this weekend, (I know I have to stay south of the CNR) I'm just wondering if people can help me be more successful then I have been in the past (only have ever caught 2 bows and a brown) thanks
