Guys and gals,
With this cold weather upon us I have been itching to get my new boat on the water (Sylvan Explorer 1600). Last year (last 1/2 of the summer) I was just fishnig Erie, Simcoe, and northern lakes for Bass, Pike and Pickerel - I have never fished before the bass opener. This spring I am thinking about giving it a try (after turkey season of course ).
I was going to bring it down to LaSalle with me and try the Detroit River for pickerel. I see lets of guys fishing in the spring at the mouths of 16 Mile, Bronte, Credit River, and the Burlington Pier as they empty into Lake Ontario........I am assuming they are fishing for Trout? What species can I target on Lake Ontario without downriggers?
Thanks guys!
