Hello all. I had the opportunity to fish in Canada for the first time in my life last year. I am hooked. Beautiful scenery and awesome fish. I was wondering if there were any suggestions on crankbaits/ trolling baits to use for Lake Trout. I am used to catching largemouth and smallmouth bass so the first time hooking a Laker with that head shake was amazing!! I now have the bug. We were up there late May and will probably be up there again during that same time this year. The lures that I used last year were Rapala DT-14/16 and TTS-15. I also used an eerie deerie with a leech or twister tail. We had good fishing but looking for other lures and possible good spring colors. Not looking for secrets but general ideas for even more success. The only other lures I had in mind were looking at reefrunners. Thanks in advance

We fish a lot of blue fox spinners and lucky strike spoons for spring lakers. Few cleos and husky jerks also but honestly it can sometimes be a crap shoot. Anything with a natural minnow profile will generally work when they are on. But when they are off sometimes your best bet is dead bait/three way rigs

thanks for the imput. I will definitely check those options out. We will do mostly trolling and casting shorelines. Can't wait to make the journey back up.
