Don't be fooled Mad, I've explored CCs' fly boxes and they're all fresh off the vise, never touched water  All show but no go

I'm with Jmatt's selection, just add a pheasant tail, a prince nymph and blood dot fly and you're good to go... Also for spey flies, black and blue is good but we hit 3 on all white flies yesterday.

CC is correct to some degree although I'm not sure I'd call them stupid. But they are far easier to catch...once you have found them. Spring fish however tend to be even easier as they are more numerous. If you follow the prevailing theory that only about 35 to 40% ascend the rivers in the fall (some exceptions) and the remainder in the spring than by late April we should have 100% of each systems annual run in the river. Another thing to take into account is that post spawn fish dropping out are back on the feed and will eat just about anything that comes in front of them.
Fly selection is far less important than presentation.
