Spruce Lake Trail

Hey everyone , new to this forum , glad I found it . My sister and her husband have a Bunkie on Spruce lake Trail in Bancroft , on the july long weekend my wife and I are heading up there and my sister wants me to take her fishing . I used to fish allot but got out of it for a few years , no time , to busy with work and everyday crud . I have not fished in this area , and wondering if anyone knows some good lakes or can give some advice on where to try . I was told by a friend in Bancroft Spruce Lake is a awesome lake for Splake , never fished for Splake before , dont even know what to use for bait lol . Their Bunkie is in the area of Spruce lake and Jimmie Lake is not to far either , I know there is a ton of lakes in the area , but like i said I have never fished in the area , just atv'd allot up there . We would like to fish a lake that is not over populated with humans , we don t care what we fish for , she just wants to catch something lol .

Fish them like you would fish a lake trout. Your best bet is always live minnows but in place of them I always love my rattlin rap's and mid-depth diving raps. You might also catch them on worms, jig's crayfish etc... but like I say a minnow or minnow look-alike is going to be your best bet.
If you're on Spruce Lake you are surrounded by good fishing, many of the lakes around you have different species

well took my sister to Spruce Lake and we floated around the lake for 3 plus hrs and didnt even have a bite , tried everything I had in my tackle box , plus just a hook and worm , we loaded up and stopped at another lake ( dont know the name) and floated around that lake for another few hrs and got skunked again , main thing is we had fun and shared some great laughs . Gunna give it another shot on the august long weekend , may try Jimmie Lake this time and Egan Lake , or possibly the chain lakes .
